Te Reo Māori is the study of the oral traditions of Māori, the reo and tikanga that goes alongside it. In Te Reo Māori the emphasis is on developing writing skills using the models of descriptive writing, mihi, review, notices, directions, dialogue and narrative writing. Emphasis is also on developing oral skills and communication between students. History, traditions and customs are explored within the context of each unit covered. Tikanga is covered within each unit of learning.
