This course is suitable for students with an interest in the past, and social issues of concern to young people today. It will appeal to students who enjoy researching, and want to develop their ability to craft an argument. Students will be able to shape their own course from a selection of standards, depending on their abilities and interests. Credits may be obtained from just the internal standards or from a combination of internal and external standards. Popular topics in the past have included The Civil Rights Movement, The Bastion Point Protests, The Mau Movement and the Springbok tour. The overall theme for the year is Protest, however there is flexibility based on student interest.
