Qualification: NCEA Level 2
The Level 2 Drama course follows on from the Level 1 course, giving students the opportunity to further develop their performance ability and theoretical understanding of drama, as well as the opportunity to gain credits towards NCEA. There is an emphasis on enhancing the student’s practical performance technique, while investigating and experimenting with a range of genres. Students will be expected to participate in a major class production as part of the assessment requirements. This course includes: stage managing, special effects make-up, prop making. The opportunity to view live theatre is also available.
Students will not complete all credits on offer, but will create a course of study that suits them.
- Devising and writing scripts
- Performance technologies -stage make-up, lighting, sound, costuming and set design
